Over the last six years I have found specific tools that have helped me develop my business. I consistently get questions about what to use and how to use it so I’ve developed this page which I will reference. As I use new tools that I find helpful, I will list them here.
If I recommend a product or service it must perform well, do what it promises and have excellent customer support. Everything will have glitches – the important factor is how the company responds when there IS a glitch.
Just a word: Some of the products I mention use affiliate links. This means I could receive a commission if you make a purchase. I may have received a review copy or I might be using the product myself. However, neither of those situations will cause you to pay extra for a product. Nor will I give a positive review or recommendation for a product that I think fails to deliver on what it promises.
Have you been wondering about the quality of the content at PLR-Health-Wizard? Well, because I have been burned by garbage about as often as you have, I have zipped together a miniature article packet. Feel free to download that using the graphic to your left.
HostGator: This is the ONLY place I would consider – seriously. They have excellent phone support, email support and minimal down time. In the past 7 years I am unaware of anytime that my site has been down for more than a couple minutes. Downtime is when your site is not available to searchers because the host company is unable to generate the site. HostGator has literally saved my business.
Aweber – is the industry standard against which all other autoresponder companies measure they success. And, that being the case, why look any further? There are other companies but I have had incredible support and deliverability with Aweber. [Deliverability is the percentage of your emails that actually go to the intended email box. This percentage is affected by a combination of factors – the server which sends the emails, the email client receiving the email and the content of the email.]
Market Samurai: WOW. This software is so powerful you won’t need to purchase another piece of keyword research software. They are consistently updating the software and provide an incredible amount of support.
MicroNiche Finder: This is an excellent software that performs well, is consistently updated but not as powerful as Market Samurai. HOWEVER, if you are doing keyword research for a site or two and not running consistent reports and updating SEO factors to your site, then this software will be just what the doctor ordered!
Photoscape: Free software to manipulate images. Not as powerful as Gimp but definitely useful. User friendly. Read the page carefully to get the right download link.
GFX Writer: Easily produce your own ebook, CD, DVD and Newsletter covers. The software is from Incansoft. I’ve been using it for 2 years now and love it.
Stock.xchng: Free Stock photo site; watch the rights below each picture, some require that you notify the creator where you are using it and others require you ask permission.
Morgue File: High resolution stock photos that are free. Again, look at the rights to each photo to be sure you can use it they way you intend.
Commons Wikimedia: A database of media files that you can use; check the rights – in some cases they are public domain, in other cases you must either ask permission or notify the creator of how you are using it.
Evernote: I can’t say enough good things about this tool. I save all my notes, swipe files and clips from the Internet. Your content can be synchronized between computers and is stored in the cloud. However, if you don’t have access to the Internet your content is still stored on your computer.
Freemind: Mind mapping software that is a free download. You can use this to outline your own product creation or to teach others with screen capture.
Insightly: Create your own Basecamp environment without taking out a credit card. It is a customer relationship management system for small businesses in which you can integrate LinkedIn, Twitter, MailChimp and mobile applications. Create algorithms that sent to your desktop when tasks need to be done and give your virtual assistants access to only limited areas. Very Cool!
Ultimate Electronic VA: Want to learn the ins and outs of using Insightly quickly and easily? I developed a method of integrating it into my online marketing that has allowed me to complete more projects in less time.
Cloudberry: If you are going to use Amazon S3 for storage in the cloud then this is the tool you want to use for integration and access. It is a free program and you’ll find “how to” videos on YouTube. Amazon S3 is an incredibly cost effective way to store content, load video for streaming or products for download.
Amazon S3: Storage in the cloud. It can be complicated BUT easy once you’ve watched a couple of videos. Use Cloudberry to start. VERY low cost.
Pingdom: Monitors your site for downtime; cost effective and a free option as well.

Affiliate Marketing: Andrew Hansen has the best step-by-step affiliate teaching program with both video and pdfs to walk you through the process. I own it, I use it, I love it.
Content Search/Adsense: Michael Ullman is a genius. I have said that several times. But, then, he is a genius! He wrote 100K Adsense, updates the program regularly and when followed, the program works. Again, I own it and use it.
Expert Media Show: Tony Laidig produces 1 hour videos without pitches. At the top of each page is a table of contents for the video so you know what you’ll be learning. Tony is the Public Domain expert and will teach you how to manipulate illustrations with free software, find public domain content and create compelling pages. And, did I mention it’s free?
KD Suite: This is a suite of tools from Dave Guindon to help you develop your Kindle books. There are three pieces of software – all of which I use personally and have helped me tremendously. One will delve out information about the books already selling on Kindle, another will help develop keywords for search and the third will help market the book you have already produced. Click over and see what you can get.
